IAS Arpit Chauhan UPSC Booklist, Optional, Marksheet, Education, Biography (AIR 20)

Arpit Chauhan has secured All India Rank 20 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021 in his third attempt. And last year, he secured AIR 297 which got him into the Indian Defence Accounts Services. So how did he improve his rank and what’s his preparation strategy? UPSC Topper Arpit Chauhan Biography

Arpit Chauhan hails from Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. He has done his schooling in Kashipur, a city in his district and then went to pursue B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Gobind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttarakhand.

Becoming an IAS officer was his childhood dream from his school days but gave it a direction after entering college. He started his preparation for the Civil Services Examination after his graduation and gave his first attempt but couldn’t even qualify for the Prelims exam.

After strengthening his preparation and learning from the mistakes he made in the first attempt, he got All India Rank 297 in his second attempt in the UPSC CSE. This rank was not enough to get him into Indian Administrative Services, instead, he got into Indian Defence Accounts Services.

And this is his third attempt where Arpit Chauhan has secured All India Rank 20 and now his childhood dream to become an IAS officer has turned into a reality.

Arpit Chauhan Optional Subject

AIR 20 in the UPSC CSE 2021 Arpit Chauhan took Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) as his optional subject, and it really helped him not only to score better marks in the optional itself but also helped in the GS papers as the syllabus of PSIR optional coincides with general studies.

Arpit Chauhan has scored 1018 marks out of 2025 marks in total which comprises 858 marks in the Civil Services (Main) written exam and 160 marks in the Personality Test, also known as the interview in general.

UPSC Topper Arpit Chauhan has referred to the same standard books for Civil Services preparation that most of the aspirants study. In addition to these books, NCERT textbooks especially from classes XI and XII are very helpful in UPSC preparation. Above all, making notes of your own and revising them multiple times is the key to cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
