IAS Anshu Priya Biography, UPSC Booklist, Optional, Marksheet, Education (AIR 16)

Dr. Anshu Priya has secured All India Rank 16 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021 on her 3rd attempt. She is an MBBS graduate, and how did she prepare for the IAS exam and how she got success is really an inspiration. Dr. Anshu Priya Biography

UPSC Topper Anshu Priya hails from the Munger district of Bihar, and her father is a teacher. She belongs to a family of teachers, both her grandparents were also in the teaching field and that became an inspiration for her to dream and achieve something big in life.

Anshu Priya did her schooling at Notre Dame Academy, Munger and then went to AIIMS Patna for pursuing an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery). She then worked as a resident doctor at AIIMS Patna, and after getting the degree she also practised in some hospitals and health care centres.

After that, she decided to appear for the Civil Services Examination, and so started her preparation for the same. Anshu Priya gave her first attempt at UPSC CSE in 2019 but couldn’t qualify even for the Preliminary exam, and so was the case with her second attempt. And this is her 3rd attempt where she has managed to get AIR 16 and now she can become an IAS officer.

As she is an MBBS graduate, so Dr Anshu Priya took Medical Science optional at the UPSC Civil Services Examination. And it helped her a lot in scoring better marks in the main exam as she has already studied most of the topics covered in Medical Science optional.

Dr Anshu Priya has scored 1022 marks out of 2025 marks in total which comprises 818 marks in the Civil Services (Main) written examination, and 204 marks in the Personality Test, also known as the interview. And this is one of the highest marks scored in the UPSC interview 2021.

These are some of the standard UPSC preparation books that most aspirants study and Dr Anshu Priya has also referred to the same for her Civil Services exam preparation. As her optional was Medical Science, so she prepared for that through books that she studied during her MBBS course and also referred to some reference books in the medical science field. In addition to the booklist, the skillset of answer writing plays a very pivotal role in getting good marks in the UPSC exam.
