UPSC Topper Preetam Kumar Biography

IAS Preetam Kumar is born and brought up in Sikar, Rajasthan. His father works as an LDC (Lower Divisional Clerk) in the Rajasthan state government.

He did his schooling in Rajasthan itself, then went to IIT Ropar to pursue his B.Tech graduation in Electrical Engineering. After passing out as an engineer, Preetam Kumar started his preparation for the Civil Services Examination just one after his graduation.

He couldn’t make his name in the final list of recommended students for civil services in his previous two attempts despite reaching the interview stage. And this is his 3rd attempt where Preetam Kumar has secured AIR 9 in the UPSC CSE 2021 and now his dream to become an IAS officer is going to be true very soon.

Mathematics was the optional subject of Preetam Kumar for the Civil Services examination, and it has helped him a lot in scoring better marks in the written exam.

Preetam Kumar has scored 1030 marks out of 2025 marks in total which comprises 829 marks in the Civil Services (Main) written exam and 201 marks in the Personality Test, also known as the interview. And this is one of the highest marks scored in the UPSC interview 2021.
