IAS Shreya Shree Biography

Shreya Shree is the first woman IAS officer from the Vaishali district of Bihar. Currently, her family lives in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh but both her parents are originally from Bihar.

Her father has served in Indian Air Force for 21 years, and after retirement, he is currently an assistant manager in Allahabad Bank which has recently got merged into the Indian Bank. Shreya’s mother has been a teacher for a few years, and now she is a housewife also assisting Shreya Shree in her UPSC preparation.

Due to the transferable nature of her father’s job, Shreya Shree has studied at The Air Force School and in different Kendriya Vidyalayas in different cities. After 12th, she got into IIT Kanpur for her graduation and post-graduation in Economic Sciences. She has also worked as a research intern in the field of education, and then she started her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

In her first attempt, Shreya Shree couldn’t even qualify for the Prelims exam. And then she strengthened her preparation and managed to get an All India Rank 71 on her second attempt. Her first service preference is Indian Administrative Service and she will soon become an IAS officer after her training at LBSNAA, Mussoorie.

As Shreya Shree has done her bachelor’s and master’s in Economic Sciences, so she opted for Economics optional in the Civil Services Exam. And it helped her a lot to score better marks in the UPSC exam because of her prior knowledge of the subject.

UPSC Topper Shreya Shree Marksheet

Shreya Shree has secured 993 marks out of 2025 marks in total which comprises 815 marks in the Civil Services (Main) written exam and 178 marks in the Personality Test, also known as the interview in general.

NCERT books from class VI to XII are also very helpful in conceptual understanding of the topics mentioned in the syllabus of the UPSC exam. For example, Geography and Fine Arts can be solely prepared from just NCERTs and many UPSC toppers have also shared their strategy for the same.
