UPSC Exam Centre for Civil Services Prelims & Mains 2023

UPSC has recently released the notification for Civil Services Examination to be held in 2023. And as you all know that Prelims and Mains exams are conducted separately, so here is the list of UPSC Exam Centre for Civil Services Examination 2023.

You can also find these exam centres in the official notification of UPSC, but here the list is arranged with states and union territories. And if you want to get a Centre of your choice, you should apply for the same as early as possible.

UPSC CSE Prelims Exam Centre

The main objective behind Civil Services Prelims Examination is to select only the serious candidates from the lakhs of people appearing for UPSC CSE. And so, there is a handful of exam centres in almost every state and union territory to manage them all. Some states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, etc. even have multiple exam centres and some have just one according to their population.

UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam Centre

The Preliminary Examination solves the problem of reducing the candidates’ number to a few thousand, and so the Civil Services Mains Examination does not require a lot of exam centres in every state out there. Have a look at the list of exam centres because you may have to travel to another state.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • The Centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of UPSC.
  • You should note that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the Centres, except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur.
  • Allotment of Centres will be on the “first-apply-first-allot” basis, and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen.
  • If you cannot get a Centre of their choice due to ceiling, you will be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones.
  • So you are advised to apply early so that you could get a Centre of your choice.
