UPSC Topper Ishita Rathi Biography

Born and brought up in Delhi, Ishita Rathi’s roots are from rural Uttar Pradesh. Both her parents are in Delhi Police, and this became a very big motivation for Ishita to get into civil services.

UPSC Topper Ishita Rathi has done her graduation in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University and then she did her post-graduation in Economics itself from Madras School of Economics. After that, she started her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and gave her first attempt, but couldn’t qualify for it.

This is her third attempt where she has managed to get All India Rank 8 which is a dream rank for most UPSC aspirants to be in the top ten. Looking at her rank, Ishita Rathi might get Indian Administrative Service and we may very soon see her as an IAS officer after her training at LBSNAA, Mussoorie.

Ishita Rathi referred to all the standard books for UPSC preparation along with NCERT books for a brief understanding of the basic concepts and topics mentioned in the syllabus of the UPSC Civil Services Examination. She had also joined some test series to evaluate her answer writing skill and improve it and had also subscribed to Vision IAS magazine for current affairs preparation.

Above all, making your own notes and revising them again and again, is the one key mantra every aspirant should follow in order to score a good rank in this exam.

As she has done her graduation and post-graduation in Economics, Ishita Rathi took Economics as optional in the UPSC Civil Services Examination and it helped her score good marks and eventually a good rank, AIR 8.
